| We work from a CD master and Press-optimised PDF files.
Suitable master formats are CDR, Exabyte, or PCM-1630, all correctly formatted
and with low error rates. CDR masters must nearly always be written as
a single session in disc-at-once mode: we recommend that you use professional
grade writers (eg Plextor, Teac or Yamaha) and expensive discs such as
HHB or Tayo Yuden; the writing speed should be generally no faster than
4x.
If you don't have a suitable CD master we can make one up for you: see the Digital Mastering Room page if you want to book an attended audio mastering session. In addition to CD-ROM work, we can digitally EQ and compress audio, remove hiss, crackles and hum, and generally make sure the CD recordings are as good as possible. If you can't easily get Press PDFs made yourself, we are happy to do the repro work here from your electronic artwork files: there is a small repro setup charge based on the number of pages you have in your artwork and we'll include digital matchprints for you to check. We can work with nearly all artwork packages, but to avoid extra graphics charges please make sure you always use the print templates and specifications that we supply on this site. We also require an MCPS licence, or at worst a copy of your application form, before we begin manufacturing audio CDs: the forms are available from us. Please don't leave this to the last minute! It is essential that you telephone us before submitting your order so we can book you in and give you a job number. |

| TURNAROUND, OVERS AND UNDERS: |
| Turnaround is approximately 7 to 21 working days from receipt of workable master, Press PDFs, MCPS, and payment: always contact us before sending your job to finalize details, carriage requirements, delivery schedules and prices, and get a job number from us. We generally do not operate an overs policy on small orders like 1,000 discs; we obviously try to deliver the exact quantity you order, but due to the very nature of manufacturing there may be occasions when some discs are rejected in quality control. If you do not allow for overs in your order you may very rarely find that you do not receive the exact quantity you specified and, whilst you only pay for the number you actually receive, we would not be able to re-run the small percentage that has been rejected. If it is important that you receive at least a certain number of discs please cost for 10% over, and tell us when placing the order. |

| For audio discs, your mixed master must be supplied on a DAT, MD, DCC or CD; digital sample rate conversion is included free of charge. Each track on the mixed master corresponding to a CD track must have a Start or Track ID, correctly positioned and numbered; numbering must be unique, continuous and ascending.
